To Revise

The following poem was written quite awhile ago but revised during these past days.  I continue to create and push around words, phrases, etc., knowing I will probably not be satisfied with a final version.  But wanting to share my writing, I post this version on my blog.

An Enduring Season

Rubbed with summer
The flying crane
Glides above sharp grass
Caught in the tide inlet.
A light breeze
Pushes against
Salt touched sea curtains.
Wild raspberries
Ripen on a hill.
All summer
Mannered gulls
Crack clams against rocks
While naked children
Chase the push
And fall of green waves.

At night
A red moon
Drips weeds and barnacles
Into wet sand.
Candlelight calls
From a restaurant.
Hung on fishnets
Amber and musk green balls
And dried starfish
Cling to shadowed walls.
An epiphany of bells:
Glass reflects the moon
Swaying with mast and halyard.
